The
Corrugation Recording Trolley is a
lightweight, self-contained instrument to
measure the variation in smoothness across a
rail head, known as corrugation. After a short
digital set up procedure, recording commences by
simply pushing the trolley along the track. All
the recordings are distance based, therefore the
recording is independent of the speed of travel
along the track. The CRT recording trolley
produces analogue traces on its integral 100 mm
thermal recorder to a selected distance base and
also records all the measurements simultaneously
on a PC memory card for further computer
analysis.
