The Rail Side Wear Recorder (RSWR-C-S) is a self
contained laser measuring instrument designed to record
the full profile of the railhead against referenced
stops for both standard and grooved rails. At the push
of a button a vertical laser line is projected across
the railhead with optics and geometric linearisation
instantly producing the head profile graphically on the
computer screen.
Data is captured on the integral standard or ruggedised
PC for post process analysis or for export to other
standard packages. Software supplied with the RSWR-C-S
allows for over laid comparison of the new head and
groove profile with current or previously stored
profiles.
For easy transportation the unit is provided with a
convenient folding arm enabling it to fit into the boot
of a car. The picture shows
the
 operation mode but the unit folds for easy
storage and transport
